How can I ride two classes?
The '03 Mulekicker was on the schedules of both the MHSC series and the AMA
National Hare Scrambles series. Since it's a National race, the class structure is
set up according to AMA rules. However, the MHSC class structure does not
match up exactly with the AMA. For example, the AMA has two "Vet" classes --
"Vet A" and "Vet B" -- whereas the MHSC has only a single "Vet" class.

In this situation, the MHSC allows a rider to pick a class that is relatively close to
what they would normally ride in the Missouri series, as long as it's not a class that
is obviously a lower skill level than their regular MHSC class. For me, I would be
barred from riding the Open C class but could ride either of the Vet classes, the
Open A class, heck, maybe even the Pro class.

After the race, our tireless MHSC scorekeeper, Tom Eidam, painstakingly
segregates the MHSC regulars from the field and scores them separately
according to the MHSC class in which they've been competing during the year.
And that's how it's possible to ride two classes at once.
